Position Objective: To support and champion the overall mission and vision of Christ the Redeemer, especially as it pertains to the direction and oversight of the children and youth ministries.

General Responsibilities:

  • Rule of Life
    • Cultivate a rule of prayer and devotion as modeled after the daily offices of morning and evening prayer
    • Communication: maintain open and regular communication with my rector and bishop providing reports where required
    • Diocesan: Serve in various ways as requested by the bishop

Specific Responsibilities:

  • General Pastoral Duties
    • Regularly pray for parishioners and their children
    • Assist the rector with baptism preparation
    • Assist the rector with hospital visits
    • Preach about 10 times a year
    • Celebrate the sacraments in coordination with the rector
    • Assist the rector in mid and long-range planning
    • Other duties as assigned by the rector
  • Children’s Ministry (ages 0-6th grade)
    • In collaboration with the rector, nurture and maintain the vision for children’s ministry at Christ the Redeemer.
    • Oversee the part time children’s director
    • Support and partner with the parents of the children at Christ the Redeemer as they raise their children in the faith.
  • Youth Ministry (7th-12 grade)
    • Partner with the rector to attend to the pastoral needs of children and families
      Youth Ministry (7th-12th grade)
    • In collaboration with the rector, nurture and maintain the vision for youth ministry at Christ the Redeemer.
    • Lead the regular youth group at Christ the Redeemer
    • Lead the youth on Fall and Winter retreats
    • Empower, train, and support a team of volunteers to serve the youth of Christ the Redeemer.
    • Establish and execute a confirmation course for our youth.
    • Develop and maintain the annual youth ministries budget
    • Partner with the rector to attend to the pastoral needs of youth and families.
