Overview

Job Title: Manufacturing Engineer

This role operates on a 4x10 schedule, four days per week with 10-hour shifts. Night production schedule is Sunday - Wednesday or Wednesday - Saturday, 5:00pm to 3:30am PST. The work environment includes 75% production floor activity addressing technical blockers and 25% independent development work such as data analysis and documentation improvement. This temporary role may be eligible for listed benefits and compensation below.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the first technical point of contact for production disturbances and unblock production issues.
  • Find structural solutions to prevent recurrence of production issues.
  • Process defective material for engineering evaluation to determine the path forward.
  • Modify shop orders to enable continuous production execution.
  • Develop and improve troubleshooting documentation for production test hardware.
  • Assist in building, testing, qualifying, and producing next-generation spacecraft as part of the manufacturing team.

Essential Skills

  • 3-8 years of experience in a relevant field.
  • Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Optical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics, Applied Mathematics, Optics, or Optical Sciences.
  • Familiarity with Low Rate Manufacturing Environments and New Product Introduction.
  • Knowledge of Lean manufacturing practices and principles.
  • Experience with Root Cause Analysis Techniques such as Fishbone, Fault Tree, and DMAIC.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and writing skills.
  • Experience with Electrical System Design and Metrology.
  • Experience with Mechanical Design and Failure Analysis.

Nice To Have Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience with SAP or similar ERP software.
  • Proficiency in NX Unigraphics or similar CAD software.
  • Experience with Aerospace and/or Optical Manufacturing.
  • Proficiency in Python programming language.
  • Experience with Fiber Optic Systems.
  • Familiarity with Statistical Analysis Software such as Minitab.

Requirements & Benefits

Pay range: $70.00 - $78.00/hr. Benefits subject to change and eligibility rules.
