We are hiring a Refrigeration Supervisor - 3rd Shift in our Salina KS location. This position is responsible for leading, directing and coordinating the refrigeration department to optimize performance regarding safety, productivity and quality. This role also supports compliance with Process Safety Management (PSM) and Risk Management Plan (RMP).

Responsibilities

• Supervise and troubleshoot the repair of ammonia refrigeration equipment, including compressors, valves, pumps, and other related machinery.
• Oversee maintenance and preventive maintenance of production machinery and building systems, ensuring compliance with food safety and quality standards.
• Ensure compliance with EPA's Risk Management Program, including Process Safety Management, hazard assessments, and emergency response.
• Coordinate with external service agencies for timely and effective refrigeration repairs and work order completion. Perform regular inspections, preventative maintenance, and chemical testing to maintain refrigeration and utility systems within established limits.
• Interface with state and federal agencies and ensure adherence to safety programs and ammonia safety equipment standards. Supervise, train, and develop staff, while diagnosing and repairing malfunctions in refrigeration and related systems.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent. Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Minimum of 3 years related experience; ammonia refrigeration experience required.
• Knowledge and skills in technologies of general construction, electrical systems, electronic systems, microprocessors, mechanical systems (e.g., production/process, refrigeration, boilers, HVAC, hydraulics, and pneumatics), and computerized maintenance management systems.
• Working knowledge of food plant production and processing equipment preferred. Knowledge of occupational hazards, safety, PSM & OSHA safety regulations, EPA regulations, USDA and sanitation standards preferred.
• May be required to be clean shaven if trained in the use of and required to use a respirator.
• Capable and willing to work any shift and be on 24-hour call for emergency situations as necessary.

Compensation and Benefits

The base salary range for this position is $66,375 to $110,625 annually with eligibility for a 10% annual incentive bonus, based on organizational performance. The pay range reflects factors considered in hiring decisions including education, skills, experience, certifications, geography, etc. Starting pay for the successful candidate may fall anywhere within the stated range.
