Job description
Seeking Quality Inspector for 3rd Shift - Must train on 1st Shift for 3-6 months
Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
1. Measure dimensions of products to verify conformance to specifications for both in-process & final inspections in accordance with established procedures.
- Reads and understands blueprints and work order for specified materials and dimensions.
- Able to use a variety of inspection equipment such as micrometers, calipers, dial indicators, Tri-check gages, Sunnen Bore gages, pin gages, height gages, microscopes, comparators, and coordinate measuring machines
- Checks finishes with the use of comparison gages, scribes or by using a profilometer to insure production of specified surface finish
- Able to visually inspect product to meet customer specifications and appearance.
- Determines dimensions not specified in blueprints by applying knowledge of math techniques & concepts
- Tests hardness of work piece surfaces using hardness testing machine.
- Performs random & periodic floor checks at machine to verify quality standards are met
- Completes quality examinations by applying knowledge of proper company documentation or customer supplied procedures and applicable sampling criteria.
- Documents all instances of rejected product or raw materials.
- Trains co-workers in quality control concepts as requested.
- Adheres to established policies and procedures paying special attention to safety regulations.
- Notifies management of product discrepancies, equipment malfunctions and/or personal injuries.

Education/Experience: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Specialized Training: Prior experience in a related industry preferred. Ability to speak effectively before customers or employees of the organization. Math Ability: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of inspection software.
