Overview

The Sanitization Technician I reports to the Sanitation Supervisor and is based out of our Seabrook, New Jersey location. This person will perform all sanitation operations and conduct food safety and quality procedures to ensure a safe, efficient, productive, and positive work environment. All procedures align with OSHA, FDA, EPA, SQF, and GMP standards.

The starting hourly rate for this position is $20.64/hr. 3rd shift is eligible for a $0.45/hr shift differential. Medical insurance will be offered through Local Union 152.

Responsibilities

• Performs daily, weekly, and monthly sanitation tasks (Master Cleaning Schedule)
• Follow all sanitation safety and food safety guidelines
• Support Production CIP (Clean-In-Place) processes
• Complete all associated documents related to task per facility document requirements
• Work with chemicals to complete cleaning
• Operate PIT equipment
• Operate Cleaning equipment
• Taste test products as needed, up to a couple of ounces per test

Education and Experience

• Must successfully complete and maintain the Lassonde Pappas Forklift Certification
• Ability to read and write
• Work in a safe manner following all PPE requirements

This position requires sufficient physical ability to work in a production setting.

• Frequent: talk and hear; stand, walk, climb stairs, stoop, bend, crouch; push/pull; lift up to 50 pounds; operate machinery and equipment
• Exposure to wet and humid conditions and temperature fluctuations

• Occasional: squatting, kneeling, reaching above shoulder height; ability to wear a dust mask; confined entry using LOTO; exposure to toxic and corrosive chemicals

• Vision: close and distance vision, color and peripheral vision; detect obstacles in a fast-paced environment with high-speed equipment
• Hearing: normal hearing range with or without correction; exposure to noise from pumps, machinery, forklift traffic, lines, and exhaust fans
