We are hiring Director-level roles to support our growing Consumer Goods business, seeking experts with experience across the commercial excellence spectrum: market segmentation (e.g., demand spacing, occasion strategy, consumer segmentation), channel & customer strategy, go-to-market strategy, revenue growth management (pricing, price-pack architecture, promotions excellence, trade investment, and active mix management), and sales excellence. This role joins a high-performing unit delivering best-in-class commercial-excellence strategies across the consumer goods universe. The role offers rapid development toward leadership within the practice.
What You Will Create An Impact
- As a Director, you will be a vital member of our Consumer consulting team focused on Consumer Goods strategy, with emphasis on commercial excellence.
- Cultivate trusted-client relationships, source project opportunities, and develop proposals leading to revenue generation.
- Apply expertise in market segmentation, channel & customer strategy, go-to-market strategy, revenue growth management, and sales excellence to deliver solutions.
- Deliver solutions through deep content knowledge and client relationship skills within the Consumer Goods practice.
- Identify client pain points and develop custom solutions to complex strategy engagements.
- Participate in proposal development and pre-sales meetings to address client needs and expand Simon-Kucher’s footprint.
- Manage delivery to balance client success, project profitability, and team satisfaction; incorporate client feedback proactively.
- Own client engagements within the Consumer sector, specifically Consumer Goods organizations.
- Provide exceptional client service and communication, even in challenging situations.
- Lead a large, talented team of junior consultants to develop innovative insights and actionable recommendations using data, analytics, and research.
- Manage multiple engagements and project teams concurrently; coach and develop project team members.
- Contribute to growth of the Consumer sector by pursuing new capabilities, thought leadership, and business opportunities; support end-to-end proposal development and client pitches.
- Develop and deliver new thought leadership in collaboration with peers and seniors in the Consumer sector with a focus on Consumer Goods strategy.
- Stay abreast of current business and industry trends relevant to clients’ businesses.
- Identify opportunities for process and tool improvements; demonstrate empathy and emotional intelligence in change management.
- Play a role in recruiting and integrating new Consumer consultants; contribute to Simon-Kucher’s culture and success.
Your Profile
- Outstanding drive, determination, and desire to be part of a growing, top-tier consulting firm.
- Strong knowledge and passion for the Consumer sector, with a focus on Consumer Goods.
- Undergraduate degree required; advanced degree (MS, MA, MBA, etc.) preferred.
- Minimum 8+ years of experience in professional services, ideally in management consulting serving the Consumer sector (Consumer Goods).
- Proven expertise in growth strategies, go-to-market strategy, segmentation (advanced analytics), product and portfolio design, pricing, marketing, value proposition development, distribution strategy, sales strategies, and monetization.
- Existing network within the North American Consumer Goods industry, preferably with senior executives.
- Ability to develop and maintain relationships with senior clients; track record in selling and managing new and follow-on engagements.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to distill insights from large data sets.
- Proven ability to solve complex problems, lead teams, and complete challenging projects on tight timelines.
- Experience managing multiple engagements, including work plans, deliverables, budgets, schedules, and accounts receivable.
- Effective presentation and communication skills for senior audiences.
- Proven ability to build, grow, and maintain a high-performing consulting team.
- Inclusive, empathetic leadership that delivers tangible client value and cross-team collaboration.
- Strong interpersonal skills to work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders.
- Ability to travel at least 25% of the time.
Compensation: The pay range for this position in New York is $215,000-$250,000/year. Compensation may vary based on experience, skills, location, and business needs. Benefits include paid time off, 13 paid holidays, medical/dental/vision insurance, basic life insurance, and 401(k) for eligible employees.
