Overview:
HKS is seeking a Business Development Director to join our Health team.
The role focuses on growing presence and market share in identified markets aligned with HKS's practice and geographic areas of strategic growth. The Director will lead pursuit and development activities for new client relationships, targeting specific clients.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct market analysis to inform yearly business development planning and targeted client lists.
- Collaborate with office, practice, and sector leadership to establish annual business development plans and identify targeted clients.
- Execute business development plans in coordination with project teams and leadership.
- Create and implement capture plans for targeted clients, working with relevant teams.
- Develop and establish relationships with prospective clients across practices and offices.
- Position the firm as a thought leader and problem solver to clients and influencers.
- Communicate the HKS story, highlighting key projects, firm capabilities, industry insights, and best practices.
- Represent HKS at local, regional, and national events, including conferences, to connect with potential clients.
- Assist in preparing materials for business development and relationship building.
- Research and follow up on opportunities and pursuits for projects and targets.
- Track pursuits in Salesforce, including pipeline reporting and win/loss ratios, to inform strategic actions.
- Lead Business Development Huddles for the practice/region.
- Ensure documentation of RFx activities in Salesforce.
- Coordinate with Marketing on Go/No Go processes for pursuits, ensuring proper documentation.
- Collaborate on RFx responses and interviews to improve deliverables.
- Coordinate pursuit debriefs and share insights as appropriate.
- Participate in client calls and regional BD and marketing events.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Sales, or a related field.
- Typically 10+ years of business development experience; industry experience preferred.
- Experience with Salesforce or similar CRM software preferred.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Knowledge of architecture/interior design fields.
- Proven ability to establish and maintain partner relationships for ongoing sales success.
- Experience in developing lasting client relationships.
- Strong attention to detail, interpersonal, organizational, and presentation skills.
- Ability to negotiate, influence, and manage change effectively.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Problem-solving skills and innovative thinking.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
- Willingness to travel as required.
