Job Summary
The Forklift Driver position is based at the Leonard Mt. Airy, NC Plant, with operations in the U.S. and has overall responsibility for the safe and efficient operation of forklifts to move, stack, and organize shed components and truck accessories within the warehouse or production area, contributing to the smooth flow of materials and supporting the timely and accurate production of products. This position reports directly to the Plant Manager and does not have direct reports.
Responsibilities
- Operates forklifts in a safe and efficient manner, adhering to all safety protocols and guidelines.
- Moves and stacks materials, including shed components and truck accessories, within the warehouse or production area using the forklift.
- Loads and unloads materials from trucks or other storage areas, ensuring proper stacking and securing of items.
- Assists in maintaining accurate inventory records by tracking the movement of materials and reporting discrepancies.
- Conducts visual inspections of materials being transported, identifying and reporting any damages or issues.
- Works closely with warehouse and production teams to ensure timely and accurate material movement as needed for production schedules.
- Conducts routine inspections of forklifts, reporting any issues, and ensuring that equipment is well-maintained and in good working condition.
- Follows standard operating procedures and guidelines for forklift operation and material handling.
- Promotes a culture of safety in the workplace, reporting any safety hazards or concerns promptly.
- Implements and oversees safety programs, conducts training sessions for drivers, and enforces safety protocols to minimize accidents and ensure compliance.
- Generates regular reports on fleet performance, maintenance activities, and budget adherence, providing insights for continuous improvement.

Education/Experience Requirements
- Valid forklift operator certification
