Forklift Warehouse Operator Job at Ryder Supply Chain Solutions in Port Deposit

Overview

Ryder is opening a brand new state of the art warehouse in Port Deposit, MD and is immediately hiring Permanent Full Time Material Handlers.

Position details: Warehouse positions pay weekly with the following pay structure and schedules.

• Hourly pay: $21.50 per hour
• Additional pay: $1.00 per hour when working third shift
• Schedules: 4-day workweek (Sun–Wed or Wed–Sun)

Products handled include Retail Items. Equipment used includes cherry pickers, order pickers, pallet jacks, forklifts, and other warehouse equipment.

Responsibilities

• Perform warehouse functions such as loading, picking, packing, shipping, receiving, forklift operation, and cycle counting
• Follow performance measurement guidelines of the contract and maintain accuracy in picking/packing, auditing, tote induction, staging, and loading/unloading
• Handle day-to-day warehouse paperwork (e.g., picking sheets, returns, bills of lading)
• Provide technical and maintenance support for automated packing systems during core shift hours
• Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• One year or more related warehouse and/or powered industrial truck experience preferred
• Valid forklift operator license
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Ability to adapt to a diverse work environment
• Professional relationship-building skills across all levels
• Dependable with punctual attendance
• Ability to lift and/or push/pull up to 35 lbs
• Ability to stand for long periods and work safely
• Flexible schedule availability for various shifts
• Detail-oriented with excellent follow-up
