About The Role

Sourcing Manager (EMS)

At Oura, our mission is to empower every person to own their inner potential. With our award-winning Oura Ring and app, we help over 2.5 million people turn insights about sleep, activity, and readiness into healthier, more balanced lives. We believe that starts from within — by creating a culture where our team feels supported, included, and inspired to do their best work. Our values guide how we show up for each other and our community every day.

We have offices in San Francisco and San Diego for those who prefer hybrid or office settings. Oura employees in other major cities (like Boston and New York) occasionally gather informally at local co-working locations.

We are looking for a Sourcing Manager (EMS) to assist with both tactical and strategic sourcing deliverables. The position requires the ability to work with supply chain, engineering, finance, and legal teams as well as contract manufacturers and suppliers. The role demands strong analytical, critical thinking, and negotiation skills, and the ability to operate in a dynamic environment on multiple projects with changing priorities.

What You Will Do:

  • Be a key member of the sourcing team, focusing on EMS Category Management for complex supply chain projects.
  • Develop and implement Contract Manufacturing strategies considering business requirements, quality, cost, lead times, and CM capabilities.
  • Monitor market trends and advancements in supplier capabilities, providing recommendations to leverage them for ŌURA products.
  • Assess different contract manufacturing models (OEM, ODM, JDM, etc.) and advise the team based on project needs.
  • Identify, evaluate, contract, and onboard new suppliers to maximize value for ŌURA products and manufacturing.
  • Conduct supplier performance evaluations and audits to assess quality, delivery, and capabilities.
  • Negotiate all commercial agreements, including pricing, NRE, CapEx, contracts, and E&O liability.
  • Maintain accurate records of supplier information, pricing, contracts, and performance metrics.
  • Perform cost modeling and benchmarking for parts and assemblies.
  • Collaborate with engineering to define technical specifications and communicate requirements to suppliers.
  • Work with engineering and operations to ensure material availability, and prepare purchase orders for prototyping and production.
  • Identify and mitigate supply chain risks with appropriate strategies and contingency plans.
  • Contribute to the ongoing development of ŌURA sourcing practices.

This is a Hybrid US role; candidates must be based in San Francisco and able to work in the office 2-3 days per week.
