Position Summary

The Director of Business Development will lead our business development team, driving success by identifying new market segments, developing go-to-market strategies, and overseeing their execution. You will hire, mentor, and support a high-performing team, setting ambitious sales goals and helping team members achieve them.

Responsibilities

  1. Lead the business development team with clear guidance to achieve sales targets.
  2. Identify and assess new market segments for growth, developing targeted strategies with your team.
  3. Create and implement comprehensive go-to-market strategies for new products aligned with company goals.
  4. Plan and manage GTM experiments to validate assumptions and optimize market entry.
  5. Establish strategic partnerships and alliances to build co-selling opportunities.
  6. Hire, train, and lead a high-performing business development team, fostering a culture of collaboration and excellence.
  7. Set and monitor aggressive sales goals, providing coaching to meet targets.
  8. Work closely with the team to develop insights and strategies for targeting specific customer segments.
  9. Foster collaboration, feedback, and adjustments based on market realities.
  10. Use customer data, market trends, and analytics to inform strategies and experiments.
  11. Stay informed on industry trends, competition, and regulations to identify opportunities and risks.

Minimum Requirements

  • 10-15 years of proven experience in business development, strategic planning, or related roles, preferably in B2G or Non-Profit sectors.
  • Strong knowledge of the B2G market, including government procurement processes and regulations.
  • Success in developing and executing revenue-generating go-to-market strategies.
  • Excellent analytical skills and data-driven decision-making ability.
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills for internal and external audiences.
  • Proven leadership in building and managing high-performing teams.
  • Strategic thinking and critical decision-making skills.
  • Familiarity with emerging technologies and trends in B2G.
  • Enthusiasm for working in a team that values good intentions and grace.
