Overview

Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) – Troy position at Optalis Health & Rehabilitation Centers. We are looking for CENAs to join our team and are building a great team with new management.

Responsibilities

  • Providing direct patient care to residents (bathing, toileting, feeding, grooming, and similar tasks) as directed by the RN or LPN in charge.
  • Maintaining patient comfort and safety; following all departmental policies, procedures, safety, environmental, and infection control standards.
  • Representing the facility with integrity and adhering to the Core Values and mission with respect for the dignity of each person.
  • Responding to patient calls and determining how best to assist them.
  • Providing physical support for daily activities and personal hygiene (bathing, dressing, mobility, toilet use, feeding, exercise).
  • Turning and repositioning bedridden patients.
  • Ensuring patients receive appropriate diet by reviewing dietary restrictions, allergies, and preferences.
  • Obtaining information from physicians, caregivers, and nurses about patient conditions and treatment plans.
  • Measuring and recording intake and output; reporting changes to medical or nursing staff.
  • Recording vital signs as requested (blood pressure, pulse, temperature, respiration).
  • Assisting with examinations and noting issues that may require medical care.
  • Reminding patients to take medications and nutritional supplements.
  • Documenting observations of patient behavior and symptoms for nurses.
  • Staying up to date on CNA training and facility policies and procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned.

CNA Requirements

  • State Certified Nursing Assistant Certification.
  • COVID-19 Vaccination or Exemption.
  • Ability to think and work independently and with direction; ability to communicate in a fast-paced and sometimes stressful environment.
  • Valid identification.
  • Comfortable using a computer.

Experience

  • Prior experience in long term care is preferred.
  • Prior experience with infection control is preferred.
