Overview
Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) – Troy position at Optalis Health & Rehabilitation Centers. We are looking for CENAs to join our team and are building a great team with new management.

Responsibilities
- Providing direct patient care to residents (bathing, toileting, feeding, grooming, and similar tasks) as directed by the RN or LPN in charge.
- Maintaining patient comfort and safety; following all departmental policies, procedures, safety, environmental, and infection control standards.
- Representing the facility with integrity and adhering to the Core Values and mission with respect for the dignity of each person.
- Responding to patient calls and determining how best to assist them.
- Providing physical support for daily activities and personal hygiene (bathing, dressing, mobility, toilet use, feeding, exercise).
- Turning and repositioning bedridden patients.
- Ensuring patients receive appropriate diet by reviewing dietary restrictions, allergies, and preferences.
- Obtaining information from physicians, caregivers, and nurses about patient conditions and treatment plans.
- Measuring and recording intake and output; reporting changes to medical or nursing staff.
- Recording vital signs as requested (blood pressure, pulse, temperature, respiration).
- Assisting with examinations and noting issues that may require medical care.
- Reminding patients to take medications and nutritional supplements.
- Documenting observations of patient behavior and symptoms for nurses.
- Staying up to date on CNA training and facility policies and procedures.
- Other duties as assigned.
CNA Requirements
- State Certified Nursing Assistant Certification.
- COVID-19 Vaccination or Exemption.
- Ability to think and work independently and with direction; ability to communicate in a fast-paced and sometimes stressful environment.
- Valid identification.
- Comfortable using a computer.
Experience
- Prior experience in long term care is preferred.
- Prior experience with infection control is preferred.
