General Responsibilities
The Security Guard is responsible for protecting employees, visitors, premises, and assets in the case of an incident. Regular patrolling and monitoring activities on the company’s premises to discourage criminals and ensure the environment is safe and secure.
- Patrol and monitor activities on the company’s premises regularly to discourage criminals and ensure the environment is safe and secure, reporting suspicious activities to local authorities.
- Escort discharged employees, trespassers, and other unwelcome parties off the premises.
- Control the gated entrances according to protocols.
- Monitor surveillance cameras to watch out for any disruptions or unlawful activities.
- Provide detailed reports to management as needed for any incidents that may occur.
- Contact law enforcement or fire department in case of an emergency.
- After business hours and weekends, perform physical checks on doors, windows, and gates to ensure the property is secure.
- Performs other related duties and assignments as business dictates.

- Ability to operate security systems and emergency equipment.
- Excellent observational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to remain calm in high-pressure situations.
- Ability to learn the layout of the property and buildings.
- Advanced verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work alone or as part of a team.
- Ability to solve problems as they arise.
- Bilingual and Biliterate – English and Spanish, preferred.
Licenses
- Class E driver license is required.
- Florida Security Class “D” is required.
Education And Experience
- High school diploma, or any combination of education, training, and work experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the duties/responsibilities of this position.
- Previous experience required.
- Security guard training certification preferred.
Physical Requirements
- Regular attendance is required during your scheduled shift.
- Ability to patrol the property and access areas quickly.
- Physically able to capture and detain individuals if necessary.
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and monitoring surveillance equipment.
- Must be able to work in hot, cold, wet, humid, dusty, and foggy working conditions depending on weather.
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds at a time.
