Overview

Lockheed Martin Space is seeking a Software Engineer to join our team in King of Prussia, PA. This role offers the opportunity to work on mission-critical projects that protect and serve our nation’s defense. In this position, you will play a key role in software development as part of an Agile Development Team working on satellite communications (SATCOM) systems. You will focus on developing and automating test solutions to ensure robust, secure, and resilient software products that meet high-performance and security standards.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and test software solutions that meet customer requirements, particularly for secure military communications.
  • Develop and execute automated test cases using tools like Cypress and Selenium (frontend testing) and Postman (API validation).
  • Implement high-quality, efficient, and maintainable code, ensuring comprehensive test coverage across web applications and APIs.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, contributing to requirements creation, test case development, and automated testing efforts.
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies (sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, retrospectives) to ensure continuous delivery of high-quality software solutions, maintaining secure and uninterrupted communication capabilities of critical military systems.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • Professional experience in software engineering or systems engineering with a focus on automated testing.
  • Familiarity with DevSecOps process, tools (GitLab, GitHub), and frameworks (Docker and Kubernetes).
  • Final secret clearance.

Desired Skills:

  • Familiarity with microservices architecture and backend technologies.
  • Familiarity with modern backend and web frameworks like .NET Core/Spring Boot or Angular/React.
  • Proficiency in Agile methodologies such as Scrum.
  • Familiarity with military SATCOM systems and secure communication protocols.
  • Strong understanding of the software development life cycle (SDLC), particularly in secure, high-performance applications.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, team environment.
  • Problem-solving skills with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.

Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance; you must be a U.S. Citizen for consideration.

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.

Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five-day work week; some schedules may be condensed to provide additional time away. These schedules are in addition to Paid Time Off benefits.

Schedule for this Position: 9x80 every other Friday off

Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in California and New York (excludes most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington or Washington DC is $73,400 - $129,260. For states not referenced above, the salary range will reflect the candidate’s final work location. Salary information is a general guideline and may be influenced by factors such as scope, responsibilities, experience, education, and market conditions.
