Overview

Join our Parts Authority team as a Box Truck Driver. We are looking for candidates who enjoy full-time employment with opportunities for advancement.

Responsibilities

  • Load, transport, and deliver items to customers or businesses in a timely, friendly and courteous manner.
  • Review orders before and after delivery to ensure orders are complete, charges are correct, and the customer is satisfied.
  • Monitor gauges, dials, and indicators to ensure the delivery vehicle is operating properly.
  • Take and follow directions from the dispatcher, adhere to routes and schedules, use navigation apps, and identify alternate routes as needed to deliver on time.
  • Assist with loading and unloading items from vehicles without interfering with operations at the customer’s location.
  • Provide excellent customer service, answer questions, and professionally handle complaints and concerns from customers.
  • Abide by all transportation laws and maintain a safe driving record.
  • Handle payments as applicable and prepare reports related to invoices and deliveries.
  • Complete daily maintenance checks on the company delivery vehicle and notify management of any issues when applicable.
  • Assist in other store/warehouse duties (stocking, parts pulling, etc.) as assigned.
  • Maintain and promote workplace safety and secure cash or other assets as required.

Qualifications

  • Current, valid driver’s license.
  • Able to work weekends.
  • Minimum of 1 year verifiable Class C bobtail truck driving experience.
  • Must meet company insurance requirements (drivers must be 21 years old or over).
  • Current valid automobile insurance with your name on the policy.
  • Ability to lift, move, push and pull up to 50 pounds; drivers may need to lift 75 lbs for Auto Body Parts/Collision roles.

Knowledge, Skills And Abilities

  • Ability to manage, track, and reconcile money transactions and balances.
  • Ability to use a tablet and/or mobile device for navigation, tracking, and customer interface/signature capture.
  • Exceptional customer and verbal communication skills; professional and diplomatic interactions.
  • Ability to follow directions and work well as part of a team; flexible schedule with overtime as needed (preferred).
  • Knowledge of moving freight and materials, and familiarity with relevant safety and regulatory requirements.
  • Understanding of applicable laws, EPA, DOT, OSHA regulations, and safety risk identification.
  • Previous delivery driving experience is a plus.

Compensation: USD $16.00 per hour.
