Waste Connections of New York is hiring: Residential Garbage Truck Driver in Jus

Overview

Waste Connections of New York is looking for CDL Route Drivers to join the team at our Justin, TX location. The ideal driver will have a self-motivated, go-getting attitude and a focus on safety as a core value.

What you’ll do

• Safely drive a Commercial CDL Truck into a variety of environments (Residential, Construction, Commercial, etc.).
• Determine the best, most convenient drop-off location for the dumpster to avoid property damage.
• Operate hydraulic hand controls to load/unload dumpsters safely on/off the truck.
• Secure the dumpster load, cover appropriately, and account for weight shift before departing.
• Read route sheets and service each customer identified on the sheet or assigned by the dispatcher.
• Perform daily pre- and post-trip inspections.
• Interact courteously with customers.
• Other miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

What we work with

• Trash is heavy and may require machines to aid effort; work is year-round in various weather conditions, around heavy diesel equipment, and in dirty environments.
• Extensive physical activity with heavy lifting, pushing, or pulling (over 75 pounds), walking, and occasional high truck entry/exit.
• Exposure to physical risks such as moving mechanical parts; follow basic safety precautions.
• Exposure to outside weather, fumes, and vibration.

Requirements

• Must be at least 21 years of age with a satisfactory driving record.
• Class A or B CDL.
• Ability to work Monday – any day of the week, starting as early as midnight.
• Physically comfortable with the demands of the job.
