Overview

Job Title: Accountant

Duration: 3 months contract

Pay rate: $45 to $50/hr on W2

Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accountant to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in General Ledger accounting, fundamental accounting principles, and proficiency in GL accounting processes. The role requires excellent skills in Excel, including modern Excel techniques, Pivot Tables, and formulas, as well as experience working with Oracle ERP systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and maintain the General Ledger (GL) to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
• Apply fundamental accounting principles to record, analyze, and reconcile financial transactions.
• Perform month-end and year-end closing activities.
• Prepare journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial reports.
• Utilize Excel to analyze data, create pivot tables, and develop formulas for efficient reporting.
• Work with Oracle ERP system to post transactions and retrieve financial data.
• Collaborate with internal teams to ensure compliance with accounting standards and company policies.
• Assist with audits and provide necessary documentation and reports.
• Identify process improvements to enhance accounting efficiency and accuracy.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field.
• 4 to 5 years of proven experience in accounting, with a focus on General Ledger and GL accounting.
• Strong understanding of fundamental accounting principles.
• Advanced proficiency in Excel (modern Excel features, Pivot Tables, formulas).
• Hands-on experience with Oracle ERP or similar accounting software.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with financial reporting and audits.
• Knowledge of accounting standards (GAAP or IFRS).
