TEACHER Job at SCO Family of Services in New York

Responsibilities:

1. Evaluate educational needs of students and modify course curriculum as needed.
2. Prepares class lessons appropriate to current school assignment and the needs of the students in assigned classes.
3. Provides direct instruction to students.
4. Prepare curriculum updates as needed.
5. Attends regularly scheduled faculty meetings.
6. Serves as a member of professional committees formed to address school issues.
7. Serves as a member of the Committee on Special Education upon invitation.
8. Evaluates student progress on a regular basis.
9. Prepare report cards for each student.
10. Prepares student progress reports.
11. Prepares goals and objectives for student’s IEP.
12. Implements program to carry out student’s IEP.
13. Supervises all students in class.
14. Responsible for the overall classroom management and environment.
15. Responsible for completing the following reports when necessary: Informationals, Behaviorals, and Incident Reports.
16. Responsible to attend meetings involving their students when necessary.
17. Assist classroom aide in completing point sheets.
18. Responsible to monitor classroom aide and assign responsibilities relating to their classroom.
19. Performs all duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

1. N.Y.S. Teaching Certification 7-12 preferred
2. N.Y.S. Certification in Special Education (preferred but not required)
3. College Degree
4. Acceptable clearance checks for State Central Register, Driver license, and fingerprinting as required by the program.
5. Compliance with health regulations for physical/mantoux testing.
6. Attending TCI class for certification/re-certification and passing a test upon completion of course is a minimum requirement for employment (provided).
