Looking for a Product Engineering Lead who can play a critical role in shaping the technical direction and execution of suite of innovative products/platforms designed in the life sciences industry for the Biopharma companies to be commercially successful. One such platform that focuses on Customer engagement & experience requires a strategic thinker and technical leader who can effectively collaborate with stakeholders, product strategy owner, align technical strategies with business goals, and drive the development of cutting-edge analytics capabilities.
The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing and managing the engineering efforts for various modules of an end-to-end Customer Engagement Platform. This role requires deep expertise in both software engineering and the pharma commercial analytics landscape, with a focus on leveraging data to drive personalized customer engagements.
The successful candidate will report into VP of Product Engineering, working closely with cross-functional teams, including offshore development partners, to ensure the delivery of high-quality, scalable, and compliant solutions. This role demands a proactive approach to innovation and problem-solving, with the ability to adapt to the rapidly evolving technological and regulatory environment of the pharmaceutical industry.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Leadership & Strategy:
  • Serve as the engineering lead for the Customer Engagement Platform, setting the technical vision and strategy.
  • Collaborate with the Product Owner to translate business requirements into technical specifications and product features.
  • Foster a culture of innovation, continuous improvement, and technical excellence within the engineering team.
  • Platform Development:
  • Oversee the design & development of various platform modules.
  • Ensure seamless integration and execution across various engagement channels and partnerships (DSPs, content creators, Media Channels etc.).
  • Team Management:
  • Lead and mentor a diverse engineering team, including offshore development partners, to deliver high-quality software solutions.
  • Manage resource allocation, project timelines, and deliverables to meet business objectives and client expectations.
  • Technical Expertise:
  • Data Architecture and Management: Design and implement robust data architectures that support efficient data processing, storage, and retrieval. Ensure that data management practices facilitate high-quality analytics and insights generation.
  • Technology Stack Evaluation: Evaluate and select appropriate technology stacks, tools, and frameworks that align with business objectives and technical requirements. Ensure that the technology choices support scalability, flexibility, and innovation.
  • API Development and Integration: Oversee the development of APIs and integration points to ensure seamless interoperability with external systems, partners, and data sources. Facilitate the expansion of platform capabilities through strategic integrations.
  • Multi-tenant and SaaS Architecture: Design, develop and deploy multi-tenant and SaaS architectures that cater to the unique needs of multiple clients, ensuring efficient resource utilization, data isolation, and scalability. Implement deployment strategies for seamless onboarding of new tenants and updates across the platform.
  • Security and Data Privacy: Implement best practices for data security and privacy, ensuring the protection of sensitive pharmaceutical data. Design systems that comply with legal and regulatory standards while maintaining operational integrity.
  • Access and Authorization Management: Experience implementing and designing software solutions leveraging SSO and role-based access controls.
  • Performance Optimization: Continuously monitor and optimize the performance of the platform, identifying bottlenecks and implementing solutions to enhance speed, reliability, and user experience.
  • Technical Documentation: Ensure comprehensive technical documentation is maintained, including system architecture, design specifications, and operational procedures to support ongoing development and maintenance.
  • Collaboration & Communication:
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including Product Management, Data Science, and Marketing, to ensure alignment and successful product delivery.
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders to report on project status, risks, and opportunities.
  • Quality & Compliance:
  • Implement best practices in software development, quality assurance, and regulatory compliance specific to the pharmaceutical industry.
  • Establish and monitor metrics to ensure platform reliability and user satisfaction.
  • Feedback & Improvement:
  • Develop a robust feedback loop to incorporate user insights and data analytics for continuous improvement of recommendation models.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 12+ years of experience in software engineering, especially in web application development and its relevant technologies, with a focus on product development and analytics platforms.
  • Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
  • Experience building cloud-based automation, intelligence and insights SaaS solutions in a B2B setting ideally within life sciences industry.
  • Proven leadership experience in managing engineering teams, preferably in a global or offshore setting.
  • Experience with data-driven decision-making, machine learning models, and omnichannel marketing technologies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a track record of successful stakeholder engagement.
Nice to Have:
  • Familiarity with Agile and DevOps practices.
  • Strong understanding of pharmaceutical commercial analytics and customer engagement strategies.
  • Experience with pharmaceutical data sources such as prescription data, sales data, engagement data, electronic health records (EHRs), and claims data. Ability to leverage these data sets to generate insights that drive customer engagement and business outcomes.
  • Background in data science or machine learning, with hands-on experience in developing recommendation systems.
  • Experience working in a startup environment or leading a product from inception to market.
  • Certifications in project management (e.g., PMP, Scrum Master).
  • Understanding of GDPR and data privacy regulations as they pertain to analytics platforms.
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements and compliance in the pharma industry is a plus.

Trinity’s salary bands account for a wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets and market demand for skills; level of experience and training; specific qualifications, performance, time in role/company, geographic location, and other business and organizational needs. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $200,000-$240,000.
In addition to your base salary, you will also be eligible for an annual discretionary performance bonus.
