This role is dedicated to RISC-V International, a stand-alone open standards collaboration organization.

RISC-V is a free and open ISA enabling a new era of processor innovation through open standard collaboration. RISC-V International comprises more than 4,000 members building the first open, collaborative community of software and hardware innovators powering an open era of processor innovation. The RISC-V ISA delivers a new level of free, extensible software and modular hardware, paving the way for the next 50 years of open computing design freedom and innovation.

RISC-V International, a non-profit organization controlled by its members, directs the future development and drives the adoption of the RISC-V ISA. Members of RISC-V International have access to and participate in the development of the RISC-V ISA specifications and related ecosystem.

In this role, you will work as part of the Technical Program team. You will prioritize operational and technical team needs and guide technical teams as they deliver on clear, concise, and measurable deliverables.

Responsibilities

  1. Coach and assist RISC-V members through the creation of certification requirements and processes at the ISA (processor) level and the hardware and software platform levels.
  2. Assist the technical teams in prioritizing operational and technical team requirements and gaps.
  3. Guide the technical teams to define and deliver clear, concise, and measurable deliverables.
  4. Provide feedback to and work with the RISC-V Executive Team and the RISC-V Board of Directors to build and deliver on the roadmap for the certification programs.
  5. Attend certification meetings and track action items for all certification working groups.
  6. Coordinate development with external contractors, where applicable.
  7. Drive the definition of the role of external labs and centers of competence, as well as the selection and qualification process.
  8. Participate in conferences and industry events to promote the certification initiative.
  9. Leverage and customize internal apps like Jira, Google Drive, Groups.io, GitHub, LFX, etc., to support RISC-V Certification efforts.
  10. Support onsite or virtual events including RISC-V conferences.

Minimum Qualifications

  • BS/BA degree in EE or ECE.
  • 5+ years of development experience working in processor verification.
  • 3+ years of program management experience.
  • Expertise in processor Instruction Set Architecture (ISA) and computer architecture.
  • Experience with industry standards, specifications, interoperability, and compliance test plans.
  • Experience in public speaking and engaging communication.
  • Experience working in a community where decisions are made collectively.
  • Understanding of operating systems, hypervisors, virtual machines, software development.
  • History of successful project completion and maintenance.
  • The ability to respond and adapt to a highly interrupt-driven environment.
  • Effective time management, goal setting, and communication skills.
  • Adept at guiding technical leaders to communicate goals, track status, and resolve roadblocks.
  • Service-oriented outlook: making all RISC-V members feel valued.
  • Ability to operate within complex, multi-stakeholder environments.
  • Follow-up skills and project closure management.
  • High-level written and verbal communication skills, concise, articulate, and understandable.
  • Attention to detail, content, and form.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience in processor verification.
  • Open Source software and hardware community experience.
  • Proficiency with GitHub, Google and Microsoft Suites, and Atlassian tools (Confluence, Jira).
  • Advanced degree in CS / ECE / EE or equivalent.

Salary range: $140,000 - $185,000 USD
