Overview

Business Analyst role at Accylerate. Location: Richmond, VA. Salary range: $50,800.00–$83,800.00. This position focuses on bridging business needs and IT capabilities within enterprise software environments.

Responsibilities

• Prepare diagrams explaining modifications so that both technical staff and executive management can visualize and understand what must be done. Create wireframes or visualization examples (Visio) from requirements.
• Translate between technical staff (Developers) and business users (Stakeholders).
• Write clear documents and deliver strong presentations.
• Handle pushback, negotiate priorities, and resolve conflicts diplomatically.
• Perform system integration testing and assist with User Acceptance Testing.
• Review, analyze complex processes and systems, and break them down into manageable parts.
• Familiarity with enterprise software (e.g., Oracle, SQL Server) and understanding of databases (SQL), APIs, and Data Flow Diagrams.
• Not necessarily a developer, but should have a strong understanding of how IT systems work.
• Conduct stakeholder interviews and workshops effectively.
• Write clear, testable, functional, and non-functional requirements.
• Use Azure DevOps (TFS) for creating and managing agile items—Product backlog, Epics, Features, User Stories, Tasks, Test Plans, and Test Cases.
• Experience with Business Process Modelling (Swim Lane and Flow Chart Diagrams).
• Experience rolling out new systems/processes and managing user adoption.

Required Skills & Experience

• 5+ years of BA experience in IT projects. Strong oral and written communication skills. IT software/application project experience required.
• Experience with Agile/Scrum (including SAFe) and Waterfall.
• Ability to translate between developers and business users and to deliver compelling presentations.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to identify root causes.
• Familiarity with enterprise software, databases, APIs, and data flow concepts.
• Strong experience in stakeholder interviews and workshops.
• Proficiency in documenting clear, testable, functional, and non-functional requirements.
