Description

As the manager of the ML team, you will be responsible for setting the long-term strategy and research roadmap, ensuring strong cross-functional collaboration and alignment with partner teams, and guiding team execution to deliver ML models and benchmarks in a timely manner. The team's focus is on designing and developing cutting-edge AI/ML models for human sensing, with an emphasis on building robust cross-domain identity recognition systems.

Beyond identity, multi-modal human sensing is a foundational capability powering intelligent experiences based on key human traits such as identity, expression, clothing, action, gesture, gaze, and human-object interaction. Major Apple Intelligence features, such as personalized Natural Language Search, Memories Creation, and personalized Image Generation, are enabled by learning robust representations of visual human traits.

Efficient real-time visual human sensing powers marquee photography experiences like Cinematic mode and Photographic Styles, as well as functionalities in home cameras via HomeKit, communication features like Center Stage, and more natural human-device interactions, e.g., with the DockKit framework.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Masters or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related fields, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Proficient in Python, PyTorch, or equivalent deep learning frameworks.
  • Proven track record in designing and implementing solutions using modern ML architectures.
  • Experience leading projects.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Research background demonstrated through publications, patents, or impactful software.
  • Experience managing teams.
  • Proficiency in Python, PyTorch, or equivalent frameworks.
At Apple, compensation includes base pay, which ranges from $208,300 to $313,000, depending on skills, experience, and location. Employees may also participate in stock programs, receive benefits like health coverage, retirement plans, educational reimbursement, and may be eligible for bonuses or relocation assistance.
