Global Recruitment Partner – GSE & Ground Handling Operations
Role: Mechanic – Ground Support Equipment (GSE)
Salary: $25–$35 per hour (DOE)
We’re looking for an experienced mechanic to join a growing aviation services company, maintaining and repairing Ground Support Equipment (GSE) used in airport operations. This is a hands‑on position working on a wide variety of heavy vehicles and machinery, including tugs, belt loaders, ground power units, and refueling vehicles. It’s an excellent opportunity for a mechanic with a background in GSE, commercial vehicles, plant, or industrial machinery to bring their skills into the aviation sector.
Responsibilities
- Carry out maintenance, repairs, and diagnostics on GSE vehicles and equipment.
- Perform preventive maintenance inspections to ensure safe and efficient operation.
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
- Keep accurate records of inspections, repairs, and parts used.
- Order and install replacement parts, ensuring minimal downtime.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organised work area.
- Follow all safety regulations and standards.
- Support and collaborate with other technicians; occasional guidance of junior staff.
- Travel occasionally to customer sites for service or repairs.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical training/certifications preferred.
- Strong hands‑on mechanic experience with GSE, trucks, forklifts, plant, or heavy machinery.
- Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
- Welding skills and certifications (e.g., ASE, EPA) a plus.
- Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic abilities.
- Able to work outdoors in varying conditions.
- Physically fit to lift up to 50 lbs and perform manual tasks.
