The Opportunity

Brand, Product, and Affiliated Distribution (BP&AD) manages MassMutual’s largest sales channel, a network of about 7,000 financial advisors across the U.S, helping their clients secure their financial future through insurance and wealth management solutions. BP&AD also oversees MassMutual’s product roadmap supporting distribution channels, Brand and Marketing, and Institutional Solutions.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Conduct bespoke research projects influencing executive decisions across brand, product, institutional solutions, and distribution topics.
  • Share insights on the competitive landscape.
  • Provide strategic insights to shape BP&AD’s trajectory.

The Team

The BP&AD Strategy team focuses on monitoring external and internal environments, leveraging data/analytics, and generating insights to support decision-making. Key themes include:

  • Supporting SLT and ELT decision-making through strategy projects.
  • Advancing MassMutual’s distribution and wealth management strategies.
  • Providing thought leadership on product strategy.
  • Ensuring clarity and measurability in branding and marketing narratives.

The Impact

As a Strategy Consultant, your responsibilities include:

  • Engaging in strategic problem-solving, data analysis, stakeholder communication, and teamwork.
  • Acting as a trusted advisor by understanding complex situations and identifying value-driven solutions.
  • Modeling professional behaviors and contributing to team and organizational goals.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of professional experience.
  • 2+ years in strategy consulting or similar roles.
  • 1+ year experience with data analytics and insights.
  • 1+ year experience creating executive communications.
  • Bachelor’s degree.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience from top-tier management consulting firms.
  • Financial services or insurance experience is a plus.
  • Ability to solve ambiguous problems independently.
  • Strong stakeholder relationship skills.
  • Proactive and results-oriented mindset.
  • Bachelor’s in quantitative field and MBA preferred.

Additional Information

Includes regular team meetings, networking, learning opportunities, and a commitment to ethics and diversity. The position is full-time, mid-senior level, in Boston, MA, with salary range $115,000-$145,000.
