Description

Overview of Position: The Facilities Cleaning department is responsible for the overall cleanliness, sanitation, disinfection, and routine maintenance of the ski lodge and surrounding locations. Providing clean and sanitary conditions for coworkers and guests is our top priority. While Facilities Cleaning staff is primarily responsible for the cleanliness and safety of the lodge and its outlets, there is a high degree of guest contact and staff is expected to interact with our guests in a helpful and friendly manner. Must be highly motivated to ensure your assigned work areas are properly maintained.

Job Duties:

  • Perform routine cleaning and maintenance tasks as assigned. Tasks include (but are not limited to): dusting, scrubbing, sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, and straightening furniture in restrooms, hallways, offices, stairwells, storage rooms, locker rooms, dining rooms, fitness center, and other assigned areas according to WMC standards.
  • Perform routine set ups and break downs of guest areas.
  • Provide support for special events.
  • Maintain a sense of urgency to ensure tasks are completed in a timely manner.
  • Participate in regular walkthroughs to ensure all resort areas are maintained properly.
  • Stock restroom dispensers and supply storage closets.
  • Maintain full working knowledge of operations and locations operated by the mountain.
  • Communicate with team members via radio using proper protocols.
  • Transport garbage from trash receptacles inside and outside the lodge to appropriate dumpsters.
  • Coordinate with other WMC departments in maintenance efforts.
  • Follow all proper timecard protocols: clocking in, clocking out, breaks, etc.
  • Resolve minor conflicts with guests as they occur; escalate major conflicts to supervisor/security as needed.
  • Maintain a positive attitude, especially during stressful situations.
  • Assist in the maintenance of department equipment.
  • Proactively assist guests, including greeting, answering questions, offering information/resources, providing physical assistance as appropriate, and identifying opportunities to enhance the guest experience.
  • Follow common ergonomic and safety practices to prevent injuries.
  • Maintain a clean and professional appearance, adhering to dress code at all times.

Requirements

Job Qualifications:

  • Previous cleaning, maintenance, or janitorial experience preferred.
  • Punctual and reliable.
  • Able to maintain a sense of urgency while working independently.
  • Able to work cooperatively in teams.
  • Easily adapt to changes and learn new skills.
  • Comfortable interacting with both staff and guests in a friendly and helpful manner.
  • Able to efficiently work in stressful, noisy, and crowded environments.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift and maneuver up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to stand and walk for up to 10 hours.
  • Ability to stand and walk on uneven terrain, including snow and ice covered surfaces.
  • Ability to climb stairs and ladders.
  • Ability to push, pull, bend, stoop, kneel, and reach regularly.

Work Schedule and Conditions: We are in the business of providing a premier product and guest experience. Traditionally our busy periods are during weekends and holiday periods which you will be expected to work. You may also be required to work both morning and evening shifts. You can also expect to be asked to work extra hours or days on occasion, especially during the holiday periods.
