Job Description

Oracle's California based Hardware Development organization seeks to add a Principal Board Level Electrical Engineer to collaborate with our electrical, mechanical, SI, FPGA, and power teams in Santa Clara, California.

This role offers the opportunity to work with the latest unreleased technology from Nvidia, AMD, Intel, and other industry leaders to develop servers, AI, and Security platforms for Oracle's cloud and database solutions. You will work within a specialized team focusing on architecture, analysis, design, development, testing, and deployment of high-end server and AI platforms based on merchant silicon.

Responsibilities include:

  • Parts selection and qualification
  • Schematic capture and board floor planning
  • Guidance to CAD designers and review of CAD work
  • Leading design reviews and collaborating with SI and PI engineers
  • Authoring hardware specifications and bill of materials
  • Prototyping, testing, and developing test plans
  • Mentoring junior engineers and leading HW debugging
  • Light FPGA work

Close collaboration with system leads, architects, and cross-disciplinary teams is essential. Proven experience in delivering high-quality, high-speed cloud and enterprise products is required.

Qualifications:

  • Proficiency with CAD tools like Cadence, Allegro, and Concept
  • Experience with high-performance server processors, GPUs, FPGAs, and high-speed interfaces (PCIe, UPI, DDR5, NVLINK, etc.)
  • Knowledge of high-speed design methodologies and PCB stack-up design
  • Experience with FPGA design (Verilog preferred), recent CPU and GPU architectures a plus
  • BSEE with 7+ years or MSEE with 5+ years of experience
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills

Additional information: Salary range in the US from $97,500 to $199,500 annually, with benefits including health insurance, 401(k), paid time off, and more. The role is based in Santa Clara, CA, and is full-time with seniority level IC4.
