Artisan Partners is seeking a Sales Director to join our Strategic Capital Formation group, focusing on our multi-asset investment platform and driving global new business. The team executes key sales initiatives, working closely with senior leaders, investment professionals, and stakeholders to lead sales planning, prospect engagement, and client acquisition.

The successful candidate will develop and implement a go-to-market and sales plan to foster growth, with clear mandates aligned with the firm’s resources. Success is measured by KPIs and results in significant upside, with future strategic opportunities. We seek an organized, self-starting individual with an entrepreneurial spirit, a strong sales framework, and a proven record of winning new business.

Location options: Milwaukee, WI | Boston, MA | Chicago, IL | Denver, CO | New York, NY | San Francisco, CA

Base Salary Range: $200,000 - $250,000, determined by location, experience, and skills. Total compensation may include discretionary bonuses based on performance.

Primary Responsibilities

  1. Campaign Planning: Collaborate with senior management to develop and execute sales strategies for high-priority initiatives.
  2. Messaging and Positioning: Create clear, differentiated messaging aligned with client needs, supporting marketing efforts.
  3. Strategic Prospecting: Identify prospects using personal and firm relationships, databases, and networking; qualify prospects for targeted campaigns.
  4. Targeted Sales: Execute sales plans, identify prospects, and close new business within capital raise windows, with opportunities across asset classes.
  5. Stakeholder Collaboration: Work with internal teams to ensure alignment and serve as the primary marketing liaison for sales engagements.

Qualifications

  • 6-12 years of sales experience with a proven record
  • Experience selling across multiple asset classes
  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • FINRA Series 7 & 63 licenses
  • CFA, CIMA, or CAIA preferred or interested in pursuing
  • Knowledge of financial markets and investment products
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and organizational skills
  • Ability to develop and execute sales strategies within timelines
  • Experience with open and closed fund sales
  • Strong interpersonal, analytical skills, and attention to detail
  • Willingness to travel extensively
