Job Description
The Senior Vice President, Business Development, will execute the firm’s institutional business development efforts within the East Region. The ideal candidate will have 10+ years of institutional asset management experience, with a proven ability to develop relationships across corporate DB/DC plans, public funds, endowments, foundations, and healthcare systems. This role requires a collaborative approach, focusing on partnership with colleagues and triangulating client/consultant relationships.
The SVP will implement a systematic sales process, including business planning, direct outreach, pipeline management, and relationship building through on-site visits and finals. They will partner with the Client Service and Investment Teams to ensure exceptional client experiences and will contribute to thought leadership, product development, and market trend analysis related to fixed income and North American investment consultants.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a strategic business development plan for the East Region.
- Identify, create, and advance new business opportunities through relationship building and engagement.
- Manage prospect pipelines and CRM activities effectively.
- Support and expand prospect relationships and deepen consultant partnerships.
- Maintain a strong industry network through conferences and other avenues.
- Leverage firm resources and thought leadership for engagement.
- Model and develop effective sales tactics and processes.
- Enhance the IR+M brand and uphold the firm’s culture.

- Support colleagues and demonstrate leadership qualities.
- Participate in team projects and initiatives.
- Mentor and develop team members.
- Foster a culture of constructive feedback and continuous improvement.
Minimum Skills and Experience
- Proven success in institutional asset management business development, especially in the Northeast.
- Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills.
- Deep knowledge of fixed income markets and capital markets landscape.
- Ability to manage complex prospects and relationships.
- Understanding of institutional consultants’ roles and influence.
- Strong communication, credibility, and trustworthiness.
- Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- Master’s degree or relevant certifications (CFA preferred) are a plus.

Base salary range: $165,000 - $220,000. Role is eligible for an annual performance bonus.
