As a
Behavior Coordinator , you will provide essential clinical and educational support tailored to the individual needs of students in
Grades K-12 . You will deliver educational and clinical training, evaluate staff performance, and serve as the principal quality assurance specialist, ensuring adherence to all relevant laws, regulations, and internal standards governing educational and behavioral programs.
‖ Responsibilities Include:
Providing comprehensive training, guidance, and ongoing support to program staff in conducting Functional Behavior Assessments (FBAs) and developing effective Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs).
Overseeing and maintaining quality standards for academic instruction and behavioral intervention services provided to all students.
Delivering targeted training and mentorship to staff on evidence-based teaching practices, ensuring alignment with each student’s Individual Education Plan (IEP) goals and facilitating student progress.
Evaluating the professional development needs of program staff and accordingly researching, designing, and implementing training programs that address these identified needs.
Participating actively in and promoting continuous staff professional growth through attendance at relevant conferences, workshops, seminars, and training sessions to enhance core competencies.
Leading the training, certification, and ongoing coaching of program staff in Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) strategies, ensuring effective and safe application of principles.
Collaborating with the Program Director to facilitate effective hiring, orientation, and initial training processes for behavioral program staff.
Conducting research and providing informed recommendations for adopting evidence-based curricula compliant with Department of Education guidelines and regulations.
Continuously evaluating, developing, and refining support systems aimed at addressing the unique needs of individual students, classrooms, and the broader program environment.
Participating proactively in required meetings, including student progress reviews, parent-teacher conferences, staff development sessions, and other relevant forums as necessary.
Performing regular quality assurance evaluations at student, staff, classroom, and site levels, documenting findings, and proposing actionable recommendations to enhance program effectiveness.
Ensuring ongoing compliance with Department of Education regulations as well as ChanceLight’s internal operational standards and policies.
Fulfilling additional duties and responsibilities as assigned by program leadership.
‖ Qualifications Required:
Bachelor's degree or higher in applied behavior sciences, special education or a closely related field of study.
Licensed currently or in the process of obtaining a board certified behavior analyst (BCBA) credential preferred.
Licensed currently or in the process of obtaining a special education credential preferred.
Prior experience and/or knowledge in special education services and compliance, particularly for students with autism related disabilities and emotional disturbance.
Highly skilled in working with individuals with severe learning, emotional behavioral disorders, autism spectrum disorders, and/or other related disabilities.
Prior experience and highly knowledgeable in working with students with individualized education plans (IEP's).
Well-versed in applied behavior analysis (ABA) including positive behavior interventions and supports (PBIS), effective teaching strategies, classroom management systems, data-based decision making, and functional analysis/behavior intervention plans.
Prior experience and/or highly skilled in crisis management systems and intervention.
Ability to think and act quickly and calmly in an emergency situation and make independent decisions.
Proficiency in providing motivation and having critical conversations with students that help move them toward realistic goals and next steps.
Advanced oral and written communication, organization, conflict resolution, multitasking, problem solving, and decision-making ability.
Well-versed in the use of relevant technology including experience with computers, Microsoft Office Suite, database entry and basic office equipment.

As a
