Position/Specialty: L&D RN Shift Requirements: 3x12 or 4x12s Years of experience REQ: 2 Years & Travel Certs REQ: BLS, NRP, AWHONN Floating Requirements: May float to Methodist Hospital ED - will not take primary assignment, will provide OB-specific care alongside a primary RN. On first shift at Methodist, nurse is asked to arrive 30 minutes early for quick orientation to unit and supplies. RTO Restrictions: Must work 2/3 major holidays. Guaranteed Hours: 8 &10 hr. shifts - 40 hrs. in one workweek. 3, 12 hour shifts - 36 hrs. in one workweek. 4, 12 hr. shifts - 48 hrs. in one workweek.
Special Requirements: L&D Travel experience, Facility births/month 200-300, NST (Non Stress Tests), Reflex checks / edema assessment / clonus, Use of EFM (External Fetal Heart Monitoring), Diabetes mellitus, Malpresentations (breech / face / brow), Multiple Gestation, Placenta Previa/Abruptio, Pre-eclampsia / eclampsia, Premature Rupture of Membranes, Preterm labor, RH incompatibilities, Uterine rupture, VBAC management / trial of labor, Use of External Fetal Monitoring, Use of Internal Fetal Monitoring, Use of IUPC (Intrauterine pressure catheter) placement and calibration, Recognition and Treatment of abnormal fetal heart rate patterns, Administration of blood & blood products, Drawing Venous Blood, Start & maintain peripheral IV, Antihypertensives, Insulin drips, Magnesium Sulfate therapy, Pitocin (oxytocin), Prostaglandins, Terbutaline, Amnioinfusion, Assist with high risk delivery, Assist with vaginal delivery, Forceps/vacuum extraction, Hemorrhage/shock, Recover C-Section, APGAR scores, Baby Nurse (“Baby Catcher”), Collect cord samples, ID/Security Banding, Neonatal Resuscitation, Radiant Warmers/Thermoregulation, Infant Identification, Newborn Assessment, Newborn hypoglycemia, Thermoregulation, Epidural Anesthesia, General Anesthesia, Opioids, Pain assessment & management, Foley Catheter insertion, Fundus/lochia/perineum care, Wound Assessment and Care, Vaginal Delivery, Cesarean Section, Bladder Distension, Couplet Care, Multiple Births, Postpartum Hemorrhage, Pregnancy induced hypertension, Vaccine Administration, Cerner Experience
