Responsibilities Guide and offer referral assistance to patients in navigating evaluations for patients to, from and within the Dental Department in conjunction with other departmental healthcare needs. Establish and help maintain communication between patients, their families, clinicians, and the health care system while offering additional assistance when needed.

Complete all associated paperwork; organize all necessary information from the patient medical record to accurately verify insurance information and check eligibility as needed for referrals

Provide patients with scheduling information and instructions how to contact specialists and schedule appointments as needed

Integrate prevention and screening recall systems into electronic medical record

Assist in data collection, data entry, evaluation and program reports

Interact directly with patients and their caretakers as needed, providing excellent care to all; remain objective and non-judgmental; regularly assist patients by answering questions and resolving issues that may arise during the referral process; document all communication

Assist patients in applying for various health care programs (BCCTP)

Assist in planning, developing and implementing program strategies

Assist supervisor in compiling, analyzing an summarizing data and information for program reporting requirements

Qualifications Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent

Two years’ experience in medical, social service setting or related field

Bilingual English/Spanish

Preferred Qualifications

Associate’s degree in related field preferred

Pay Range

$22.00 - $24.00 per hour DOE
