NOW HIRING: Material Handler / Shipping & Receiving Assistant

Location: Phoenix, AZ

Job Type: Full-Time Monday-Friday 6AM-2:30PM

Pay: 18/hour

Job Summary:

We are seeking a dependable Material Handler / Shipping & Receiving Assistant with a clean driving record and the ability to operate a truck and trailer. The ideal candidate will assist with loading and unloading trucks, verifying shipments, maintaining accurate documentation, organizing materials, and supporting daily shipping and receiving operations to meet customer needs efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

Truck Loading & Unloading

Load trucks accurately to meet customer requirements

Photograph each load and ensure all shippers are signed and dated

Turn in all documentation to Shipping & Receiving Manager

Unload incoming deliveries and inspect for damage

Verify deliveries against receiving documents and purchase orders

Sign/date all receivers and line items before submitting to manager

Material Tagging & Location

Tag all materials per purchase order instructions

Stage or store materials based on production or shipping needs

Order Fulfillment & Packaging

Pull stock products as needed

Package materials securely for shipment in collaboration with Shipping Manager

Receiving & Documentation

Inspect all incoming packages for damage before signing

Notify supervisor if any damage is found

Verify all received items against shipper and purchase order

Tag and route materials appropriately for production

Yard Maintenance & Organization

Keep all yard areas clean and organized

Maintain orderly stacking of outgoing orders

Manage scrap bins, pallets, and cover all stored extrusions

Shop Floor Material Management

Move and restack materials as needed to support production

Assist with organizing new material arrivals

Inventory Support

Assist with inventory counts and audits as directed

General Shop Assistance

Help in other departments as time permits or when requested

Requirements

Must have a clean driving record

Ability to drive a truck and trailer (no CDL required)

Comfortable lifting, moving, and handling materials repeatedly

Strong attention to detail and accuracy

Good communication and organizational skills

Reliable and committed to attendance

Ability to work well independently and as part of a team

Pay Details:

$18.00 per hour
