Job Purpose

Reporting to the Service Delivery Manager (SDM) within Information Technology (IT) Infrastructure Hosting, Intern will serve as a support member to the infrastructure service delivery and operational support team. This role will work with infrastructure team leads to help deliver application and infrastructure solutions and perform support tasks. With a continuous improvement mindset, the Intern will work to identify improvements to IT processes.

Job Responsibilities

Infrastructure Operational Support

– Assess reported application issues, identify root causes, develop solutions/fixes, and support the release of changes/fixes through the Change and Release Management process. Evaluate and respond to general service requests.

Continuous Improvement (CI) and Automation –

Assesses existing applications and manual work processes to identify opportunities for continuous improvement or possible automation. Assist with development and implementation of approved CI or automation tasks. Review and update existing automation to remain compliant and function with approved process and application changes

Documentation Maintenance

– Update application support documentation based on approved change requests. Maintain departmental processes, work instructions, and training materials as assigned.

Data Analysis and Metrics

– Perform report data extractions and provide analysis of data findings. Support the collection and reporting of defined performance metrics. Recommend improvements to existing metrics.

Special Projects

– Work under the guidance of team leads and collaborate with peer team members, to perform tasks and complete goals on assigned special projects. Perform other activities as assigned by the SDM.

Education, Experience and Certification

Minimum education required of the position

Actively pursuing a BS/BA degree in Management Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, or other technical area of study.

GPA of 3.00 or higher (on a 4.00 scale

Knowledge/Skills/Capabilities:
