Perform non-professional nursing and clerical duties under the direct supervision of an RN/LPN to support patient care; provide excellent customer service. Prepare patients, equipment and supplies for procedures; provide manual assistance as required. Obtain and record patient data for medical records; inform RN/LPN of information collected. Administer basic personal care and daily living activities as needed; assist with ambulation, bathing, feeding, dressing, and other comfort care. Reinforce patient and family teaching as directed by the RN/physician. Assist physicians and nurses with physical examinations, positioning, wound dressings, and patient weighing. Take and record vital signs, input/output, apply cold/ice as appropriate. Note and report changes in patient condition; communicate any concerns to the care team. Turn and position patients; assist with feeding and provide access to water. Perform finger-stick glucose testing with appropriate training; assist with admission, discharge, and transport of patients. Follow standard precautions and PPE requirements; collect and deliver routine specimens. Maintain clean and stocked work areas; support professional development and learning in the department. Assist with sterile dressing changes for wounds >48 hours old, IV fluid support, oral/NG feeding, and catheterizations/irrigation as trained. Greet patients and visitors, answer the telephone, access the EMR, schedule appointments, and provide clerical support as needed. Qualifications
