A Brief Overview
This position is responsible for fully performing basic Medical Assistant duties. What You Will Do
Assist Orthopaedic Surgeons in setting specialized traction apparatuses and applying/removal of patient casts and splints Responsible for performing duties as first assistant to the orthopedic surgeons in the operating room Provides clinical support to physicians in outpatient clinics Educates patients and families on usage, precautions, and donning and doffing of orthopedic devices, casting, traction Provides age specific care to patients from neonates through elderly Performs non-patient care duties and cross coverage of other positions within the practice as assigned Additional Responsibilities
Performs other duties as assigned. Complies with all policies and standards. For specific duties and responsibilities, refer to documentation provided by the department during orientation. Must abide by all requirements to safely and securely maintain Protected Health Information (PHI) for our patients. Annual training, the UH Code of Conduct and UH policies and procedures are in place to address appropriate use of PHI in the workplace.
