We are hiring a Senior Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) to join our global HR organization. As an HR Business Partner in Microsoft Security (MSEC), you will be part of a forward-thinking HR team dedicated to shaping the future of security and innovation at Microsoft. The HR function is deeply connected to building a culture centered on high trust and collaboration, with the goal of enabling teams to operate as “One MSEC.” This approach fosters agility, drives faster innovation, and leads to a stronger cross-organizational impact. In this role, you will have the autonomy to develop people strategies that support sustainable growth, enhance leadership effectiveness, and promote a culture of psychological safety and ongoing learning.

MSEC HR is leading the evolution of workplace practices in the AI era, focusing on operational excellence and productization to ensure that innovative ideas result in tangible outcomes. As a Senior HR Business Partner you will collaborate with senior leaders, influence organizational design, and implement talent strategies that safeguard our people, customers, and the company mission.

You will work closely with leaders and teams to advance people strategies that support innovation, operational excellence, and a culture of trust across Microsoft’s Identity, CxE, and Management organizations. Your responsibilities will include designing and executing comprehensive talent plans, aiding organizational transformation, and championing inclusion initiatives that empower employees. Responsibilities

Identify organizational needs for change and lead the implementation of new structures, programs, and processes. Evaluate both internal and external business drivers and environmental factors to encourage employee adoption of changes.

Identify gaps in current people plans and programs, and lead the execution of holistic people strategies. Assist in creating tailored people plans for designated clients, organizations, or time zones.

Assess talent strengths and needs, and support the creation of strategic talent plans that align with organizational objectives, data, and budgets. Implement talent movement plans and develop diversity and inclusion strategies for assigned clients or organizations.

Analyze leadership effectiveness and performance data, present findings, and coach senior leaders to improve capabilities. Help leadership clarify priorities and address gaps in strategy execution.

Qualifications

Required/minimum qualifications

Master's Degree in Business, Human Resources, or related field AND 4+ years experience in human resources or related processes (e.g., hiring, training, performance management)

OR Bachelor's Degree in Business, Human Resources, or related field AND 7+ years experience in experience in human resources or related processes (e.g., hiring, performance management)

OR equivalent experience.

4+ years of experience in Human Resources (HR), with a focus on organizational design and leadership development

3+ years experience understanding the design and implementation of talent management strategies

3+ years experience as an Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP)

Additional

or Preferred Qualifications

Human Resources Professional Certification (such as PHR, SPHR, or SHRM).

3+ years of experience collaborating with a broad network of clients and across Human Resources to deliver impactful business solutions.

HR Business Partnership IC5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $106,400 - $203,600 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $137,600 - $222,600 per year.
