Travel Job Description American Traveler is seeking an experienced ICU RN for a 15-week night-shift contract, with a strong emphasis on critical care skills and flexibility for PCU and ED overflow coverage.
Responsibilities Work primarily in the ICU and float to PCU and ED overflow settings as needed Patient population includes respiratory failure, ESRD, AKI, COPD, GI bleeds, DKA, sepsis, general post-op, CVA, ETOH, and overdose cases Approximately 75% of shifts spent with PCU-level patients in ED overflow 16 ICU beds in unit Utilizes Epic EMR, Alaris IV pumps, and Pyxis medication dispensing systems Night shifts are 12 hours in length Every other weekend is required Floating may be required throughout Auburn or Covington locations Major traumas, craniotomy, and major cardiothoracic cases are not present in this assignment First time travelers are welcome to apply Scrubs of any color are permitted except camo, with navy blue preferred Team members may float between facilities based on unit needs
Requirements Active WA or compact RN license Minimum of 2 years recent ICU nursing experience Current certifications in ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS; CCRN preferred Proficiency with cardiac rhythm interpretation, telemetry monitoring, vent/trach/BiPAP management, invasive line care, ostomy, chest tube, general drain management, IV medication titration Epic EMR experience is required May be required to act as lead in ED holding situations
