Northrop Grumman Space Systems has an exciting career opportunity for an Engineer Systems - Reliability & Maintainability (Software & Hardware) to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. The selected Reliability Engineer will support the Sentinel Program.

This role will focus on hardware and software reliability analysis utilizing Reliasoft, and PTC Windchill Risk and Reliability (WRR) tools. Provides technical team leadership for existing RAM&T efforts including program planning, scheduling, assigning tasks, assessing progress, tracking deliverables, and reporting with focus on program milestones.

Essential Functions:

Support system-level hardware and software engineering processes, modeling, and analysis. Create hardware reliability predictions using MIL-HDBK-217, or equivalent with an emphasis on the following:

Reliability, Availability, and Maintainability (RAM)

Reliability Block Diagrams (RBDs)

Software Reliability Analysis

Failure Modes, Effects and Criticality Analysis (FMECA) at the functional, interfaces, and part level using MIL-STD-1629

Fault Detection, and Fault Isolation

Failure Reporting and Corrective Action Systems (FRACAS)

Probabilistic Risk Assessment (PRA)

Fault Tree Analysis

Utilize knowledge of systems engineering concepts, principles, and techniques as well as familiarity with the MIL-STDs related to RAM; Monte Carlo simulation, discrete event simulation, general simulation theory

Work in a fast-paced work environment with high expectations, significantly diverse assignments, collaborative/team settings across all levels

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline preferred from an accredited university and 2 years of experience, or a Master's Degree and 0 years of experience

U.S. Citizenship is required

Interim, or Active DoD Secret security clearance is required at the time of application

Experience with failure Modes, Effects, and Criticality Analysis (FMECA) at the functional, interfaces, and part level

Experience with failure Reporting and Corrective Action Systems (FRACAS)

Experience in reliability analysis of both hardware and software engineering processes

Ability and willingness to travel up to 10% to support business needs

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related field

Experience developing RAM&T program plans and metrics

Strong interpersonal and presentation skills to collaborate effectively within a technical team environment

Active DoD Top Secret security clearance

Primary Level Salary Range: $77,200.00 - $115,800.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
