Lead Linux Systems Administrator . Our mission is to innovate tools for the United States Department of Defense test and training communities, accelerating the development cycle and delivering critical capabilities to the warfighter. As a key member of a dynamic team comprising engineers, developers, and system administrators, you will enhance our systems while ensuring their security and optimal performance. This position is based in Alexandria, VA, and requires you to obtain a Secret level clearance. Flexibility to support off-hours system administration on evenings and/or weekends is essential. While the role allows for remote work 2-3 days a week, on-site presence is expected weekly. Primary Responsibilities: Install and maintain Linux servers utilizing tools such as Ansible and Kickstart. Troubleshoot issues from the operating system to application-level for seamless operational continuity. Manage networking equipment, including switches, routers, and firewalls. Oversee configuration and maintenance of core infrastructure services, such as DHCP, DNS, email, Apache web servers, Tomcat application servers, and PostgreSQL database servers. Configure and monitor essential security tools tailored for DoD networks. Engage in design discussions to evolve the capabilities, performance, and security posture of both new and existing services. Basic Qualifications: 12+ years of hands-on experience in administering Linux servers, networking equipment, and security monitoring solutions, alongside a Bachelor's Degree; however, additional experience may substitute for formal education. 8+ years of System Administration experience specifically within DoD IT systems. IAT Level I certification: A+, CCNA-Security, Network+, SSCP, Security+ CE. U.S. Citizen with eligibility to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance. Willingness to work evenings and weekends as required. Preferred Qualifications: 6+ years of Red Hat System Administration experience within DoD IT systems. IAT Level III certification: CASP CE, CCNP Security+ CE, CISA, CISSP, GCED, GCIH, CCSP. Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA) or Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE).
