We're looking to hire a talented Demand Planner based in Hanover, PA.
Reporting to the Director, Supply Chain, the Demand Planner is responsible for developing accurate demand forecasts, analyzing market trends and collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure product availability and optimal inventory levels for the premium Stoody line. Stoody products are used in demanding industrial sectors such as mining, power generation, oil & gas, railroad, steel, pulp & paper, and foundry. The Stoody Demand Planner is responsible for developing accurate demand forecasts and translating them into executable production and procurement plans. This role ensures plant capacity, staffing and raw material availability are balanced against customer demand, while maintaining service levels and inventory targets. Acting as a key player in the SIOP (Sales, Inventory & Operations Planning) process, the Demand Planner bridges demand signals with operations, procurement, and distribution to drive reliable supply and operational efficiency.
Primary Duties
* Consolidate demand signals from Sales, Customer Care, and Finance to create monthly and midmonth SKU-level forecasts.
* Analyze historical sales, seasonality, promotions, and market trends to improve forecast accuracy. * Provide forecast accuracy and bias reports by SKU, product line, and region, using statistical models and demand planning tools.
* Convert demand forecasts into feasible supply plans, considering capacity, labor, and raw material constraints.
* Generate and maintain Master Production Schedules (MPS).
* Coordinate with plant schedulers to run MRP, creating production orders and purchase requisitions based on priorities.
* Build weekly production plans by value stream and monitor adherence, adjusting as demand or supply shifts.
* Define and maintain inventory targets (safety stock, target stock, intercompany stock levels).
* Balance supply against inventory objectives, service levels and cost constraints.
* Level-load demand to optimize plant and labor utilization.
* Identify capacity or material shortages early and escalate to avoid customer order impacts.
* Provide supply-side inputs into monthly SIOP reviews (capacity utilization, inventory projections, risks).
* Support mid-month reviews to address supply-demand imbalances.
* Ensure alignment of supply plans with procurement, logistics and plant operations.
* Own supply planning data in SAP (planned orders, MRP outputs, inventory parameters, production priorities).
* Partner with Procurement to secure timely raw materials in line with the supply plan.
* Work with Plant leadership and schedulers to validate capacity and staffing assumptions.
* Coordinate with distribution centers to align outbound supply with demand priorities.
* Escalate risks and propose mitigation strategies (e.g., expediting, alternate sourcing, rescheduling).
* Track adherence to production plans and customer service levels.
* Generate dashboards and reports for OTS (On-Time Shipment), fill rate, capacity utilization, and inventory vs. targets.
* Deliver schedule adherence, past due, and supply-side input reports for S&OP decks.
Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Operations, Business, or related field (Master's preferred).
* 3+ years of experience in demand planning, supply or production planning, or related roles.
* Hands-on experience with SAP MRP and Production Planning modules.
* Strong knowledge of SIOP/S&OP processes.
* Excellent analytical, problem-solving and collaboration skills.
* Strong communication skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Working Conditions
* Remains in a stationary position up to 50% of the time and involves additional physical demands such as ascending/descending stairs, walking stooping and standing. The other portion of time this position is required to move from Factory to Office, several times a day.
* Must wear Personal Protective Equipment 'PPE' when working/visiting manufacturing and plant locations.
* Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery including but not limited to printer, tablets, cell phones
