ADP is hiring a Lead Data Engineer.

In this role, you will work alongside ADP technology, data and product stakeholders to understand their data requirements. Then, you will play a significant role in designing and developing data solutions to provision data that fulfil the requirements.

Every day, you will do hands-on data analysis, design, develop data pipelines and other data solutions using our standard technical stack to publish the data required by our consumers. Each day, you will start with a scrum and identify priorities within the current sprint or discuss a new project. Then you'll plan relevant tasks, drive requirements with stakeholders and perform necessary activities related to data. You will follow all Data Architecture and Engineering standards that have been set.

To thrive in this role, you will need to have eight-plus years of experience working with data in technology organization. You'll need to be capable at design and development of data solutions using industry standard frameworks, platforms and tools. You'll need extensive knowledge in data analysis, data engineering, SQL, requirements analysis, data visualization and an eye for details. This role requires you to have clear, compelling, and influential communication skills to succeed. You will constantly collaborate with other data engineers and peers on other teams. WHAT YOU'LL DO:

Here's what you can expect on a typical day:

Data Engineering.

Your primary role is to analyse data, design& develop data solutions, implement code and perform other activities required to provision data to the consumers of our data platform.

Documentation.

You will document the design and specifics of the data solution to sufficient details to support knowledge sharing and answering questions from consumers about data and the integration.

Scrum.

You'll start every day with a scrum, working together to understand responsibilities, identify issues, and communicate analysis and design priorities.

Collaboration.

You will collaborate with stakeholders, peers and other engineers to ensure 1) data requirements are fulfilled 2) the data solution is efficient and scalable.

Challenges.

Inevitable challenges will arise, and we'll rely on you to look for a solution. You love a challenge and revel in the opportunity of finding one.

Learning and Teaching.

You will strive to become an expert data engineer on the team, so when issues arise, you'll be the one fix them. When you present a solution, you are open to feedback from the team since you believe collaboration helps strengthen your ideas, especially if someone thought of something you hadn't considered. After all, we all have the same goal, develop the best solutions we can for our clients.

Variety of work.

There is no typical day. Some days you will dedicate to analysis and design of data, while others you will spend on projects for project management, delivery, business analysis, or any number of other functions.

Experience.

You have 8+ years of experience in relevant skills gained and developed in the same or similar role.

TO SUCCEED IN THIS ROLE:

You'll have a Bachelor's degree OR equivalent.

Prior experience that would give you extra comfort in the role includes:

8+ years of overall industry experience with data and implementation of data solutions (relational, non-relational), data pipelines and flows

In-depth understanding of database structure, principles for relational and non-relational databases, and expertise in SQL and Data warehousing concepts

Hands-on experience with data compute, storage, and security components of Databricks and AWS are a must

Expertise in Python, PySpark and SQL is a must

Hands-on experience with developing Data Visualizations

Superior communication skills and the ability to interact effectively with stakeholders as well as developers a must.

Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to define and weigh options and alternatives

Must be able to work both independently and as a member of a global multi-faceted data warehousing and analytics team.

Ability to quickly learn new tools and technologies in a dynamic environment.

Base salary offers for this position may vary based on factors such as location, skills, and relevant experience. Some positions may include additional compensation in the form of bonus, equity or commissions. We offer the following benefits: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, Matched Retirement Savings, Wellness Program, Short-and Long-Term Disability, Charitable Contribution Match, Holidays, Personal Days & Vacation, Paid Volunteer Time Off, and more. The compensation for this role is USD $79,800.00 - USD $213,930.00 / Year*

*Actual compensation will not be less than the applicable minimum wage or minimum exempt salary requirement under federal, state and local laws.
