Onsite:

This role is categorized as onsite. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to Orion, MI on a full-time basis.

The Role:

As a Torque Coordinator in General Assembly, you will be the subject matter expert responsible for ensuring all torque applications meet engineering specifications, quality standards, and compliance requirements. You'll manage torque tools and systems, support production teams, and drive error-proofing initiatives to ensure vehicle integrity and customer satisfaction.

What You'll Do:

Own the Torque Process

Oversee torque tool setup, calibration, and usage across the GA line.

Ensure all fasteners are torqued to specification and traceable.

Investigate torque-related quality issues and lead corrective actions.

Manage Tools & Equipment

Coordinate preventive maintenance, repairs, and replacements of torque tools.

Maintain inventory of torque equipment and critical spares.

Support new model launches and torque tool installations.

Drive Data & Compliance

Monitor torque data using plant systems (e.g., DC controllers, MES).

Ensure compliance with internal and external audit requirements.

Document and report torque performance metrics.

Support & Train Teams

Train team members and leaders on torque procedures and tool handling.

Provide on-the-floor support for troubleshooting and continuous improvement.

Collaborate with engineering, maintenance, and quality teams.

Required Qualifications:

5+ years of experience in torque systems or related torque system experience.

Familiarity with DC fastening systems and torque auditing tools.

Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.

Proficient in Microsoft Office and torque data systems (e.g., Atlas Copco).

Ability to work flexible hours and respond to urgent issues as needed.

Preferred Qualifications:

Technical certification or associate degree preferred.
