Product Improvement Manager (Sustaining Engineering)

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Product Improvement Engineering Manager to join our team. The successful candidate will work closely with the current sustaining engineering manager to support our customers' needs and ensure the highest level of customer satisfaction. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in automation or electrical engineering, as well as experience in team management and automation firmware development. After immersion and transfer period of about 6-12 months, the candidate will be responsible for managing a team of 5-7 people, mentoring and developing team members, and ensuring the timely delivery of high-quality products and services.
Responsibilities:
Lead and manage a multidisciplinary engineering team, fostering a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives by identifying recurring product issues and implementing long-term, sustainable engineering solutions.
Collaborate cross-functionally with Quality, Manufacturing, Product Management, and Customer Support teams to address product issues and implement design or process improvements.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry standards, compliance requirements, and best practices relevant to automation and electrical systems.
Support lifecycle management activities including part obsolescence, product updates, and transition planning to minimize impact on customers and internal operations.
Set clear goals and expectations, aligning team objectives with organizational priorities.
Conduct regular performance reviews, providing constructive feedback and development plans.
Ready to partner with current product improvement manager to immerse into the organization and role.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Automation or Electrical Engineering
Proficient in automation firmware development and troubleshooting using Python
Experience with project management and technical documentation
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
Strong communication and leadership skills
Willingness to work on-site at least 80% of the time
Ability to travel up to one week per month within the US
At least 5 years of experience in electrical engineering or automation engineering
Experience with hands on physical hardware not just software
Proven track record of managing a team
Experience working with cross-functional teams

Pay Range
The salary range for this position (in local currency) is 101,500.00 - 188,500.00
