Purely Driven. **Position Summary** Located in North America's wind belt, Davenport proudly stands at the forefront of renewable electricity technology. Our factory works to do our part to care for the environment, like investing in renewable electricity, conserving water and maintaining zero waste for disposal. Since 1927, it has been home to one of our largest manufacturing facilities. Originally focused on cereal production, the factory transitioned to become a pet food-only manufacturer in the late '90s. Today, it holds the distinction of being the largest pet food manufacturing facility in the U.S. With utmost care, our dedicated team in Davenport produces, packages, and ships a wide range of our beloved brands including Dog Chow®, Puppy Chow®, Alpo®, Beneful®, Purina ONE®, Cat Chow®, Friskies®, and Kit N Kaboodle®. *****This role is a Relief/Floater position and will be required to be available for all shifts, including overnights, weekends, and holidays; as required for business needs.***** As a Production Supervisor, you'll coordinate all first line management functions regarding production planning, production output, equipment maintenance, management of people, quality, safety, and sanitation of the processing and departments. - Directly supervise hourly production employees.
- Be a catalyst for people development through mentoring, coaching, and performance management.
- Manage the processing or packaging schedule to maximize output while minimizing costs including active participation in problem-solving.
- Ensure products are produced in compliance with quality key check points and within "Good Manufacturing Practices."
- Achieve high levels of asset intensity by reducing unplanned stops, speed loss, waste generation, and optimizing planned downtown performance.
- Increase operating efficiencies and coordinate all activities within maintenance, engineering, and QA to ensure goals are achieved.
- Lead and coach integrated work groups to achieve results based on the factory's continuous improvement plan.
- Support safe working environment for all employees.
- High School Diploma or GED
- 2+ years' experience in a manufacturing, production, military, or related environment
- 1+ years' leadership experience in a manufacturing, production, military, or related environment preferred
