Job Description American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a night shift position on a med-surg/telemetry unit requiring current BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, and recent Epic experience.
Responsibilities Position is on a 24-bed med-surg/telemetry unit Primary patient population includes medical, progressive care, cardiovascular, and neurological patients requiring telemetry and frequent NIH assessments May care for COVID and other isolation patients as part of staffing needs Nurse-to-patient ratio is typically 1:5 12-hour night shifts from 19:00 to 07:30 Floating to other units required Responsibilities include providing care for medical, telemetry, and progressive care patients, including those with cardiovascular and neurological needs May care for patients requiring medication drips and frequent assessments Work environment includes exposure to COVID and isolation cases No more than 7 days of requested time off will be accepted and none within the first two weeks of assignment Block scheduling requests will not be accommodated Local candidates within 40 miles may receive a different pay rate
Requirements Active RN license Minimum 2 years of recent experience in a similar setting Current BLS, ACLS (AHA or AHA RQI accepted), and NIHSS certifications required Accredited nursing degree from an ACEN or CCNE accredited institution Documented Epic experience within the last year is required and must be listed in employment history Ability to complete NIHSS certification through Apex, Health Stream, or AHA
