The successful candidate will be a technical expert and thought leader in our Cloud-Native software company, with broad skills and a flexible approach to solution design and delivery. Administer and automate all aspects of Azure and Office 365 cloud tools and workloads – RegScale SaaS platform, lab environments, DevOps – including using Infrastructure as Code. System administration tasks for Azure infrastructure including monitoring, patching, user management, and securing applications. Access cloud-based systems via command line and SSH to manage environments. Design and build solutions powering DevOps monitoring, networking, and security programs. Maintain DevOps pipelines: add new functionality and integrations, troubleshoot, and improve efficiency. Maintain and administer logging and monitoring environments with dashboards and alerts. Improve installation, configuration, and deployment processes to make RegScale installs more efficient and repeatable. Support the RegScale Cyber Security team by implementing required architecture components and policies, responding to incidents, and providing required compliance artifacts. Collaborate with development teams to support changes, upgrades, enhancements, and new features in the product runtime or pipelines. Review cloud invoices periodically to ensure cost efficiency and suggest optimization options. Collaborate with the Data team to build and maintain data analytics architecture. Administer and maintain cloud-based backup, retention, and disaster recovery tools. Develop and troubleshoot Dockerfiles, deploy containers to registries, and assist with patching containers. Innovate, be creative, and grow within the role. Qualifications

Advanced knowledge of DevOps: Git-based source control, toolchains, artifacts, CI/CD pipelines, static and dynamic code scanning, runtime environments, and deployments. Advanced familiarity with Azure and experience with one or more other major cloud providers (AWS, Google Cloud, etc.), including IaaS and PaaS offerings. Ability to translate high-level business requirements into project-level scopes and design, document, and implement cloud and DevOps solutions. Excellent written and verbal communication skills with customers, engineers, sales, and executives. Awareness of cloud-native event-driven architectures. Ability to create clear, concise, and thorough documentation for internal and customer-facing use cases. Rapid learner of complex technologies and patterns; able to evaluate and recommend solutions to architects and managers. Proficiency in generating and presenting architectural drawings. Experience with Agile Project Management, Scrum processes, and distributed teams. Proficiency in scripting with Bash, PowerShell, Python, or similar languages. Experience building, storing, and running containerized workloads with Docker and orchestration platforms (Kubernetes, docker-compose, or serverless containers). Experience with Terraform / OpenTofu or Bicep. Self-starter with a passion for continuous learning and personal development. Experience applying security baselines and patches to cloud-based systems. Education/Training, Qualifications, and Certification

Minimum of seven years experience as a Cloud/DevOps/Systems Engineer or a Bachelor’s Degree with 4+ years of experience. Desired certifications: Azure Cloud, Kubernetes, and/or DevOps engineering/architecture with Infrastructure as Code; Scrum or Project Management. Must be a US Citizen and capable of passing a background check and random periodic drug testing. If remote, willingness to travel to the R&D office in Knoxville, TN up to 6 times per year.
