Overview
The Business and Information Architecture (BIA) group within our Research & Development Division's Clinical Development and Digital Solutions (CDDS) value team, the Business Strategy Partnership (BSP) organization is seeking a highly motivated Senior Specialist / Business Architect. This role is responsible for developing comprehensive business architectural models and strategic plans to support Development IT initiatives. Reporting to the BIA team lead, the Senior Specialist / Business Architect will play a key role in aligning technology improvements with overarching business transformation goals. Key Responsibilities
Develop deep business acumen and expertise in data and data standards across Clinical Development, Medical Affairs, and Regulatory Affairs domains. Apply domain knowledge to influence system design, architectural practices, and process improvements on a day-to-day basis. Create target-state business capability maps and value streams aligned with strategic drivers and business objectives. Produce business architectural deliverables and actionable insights from gathered information to enhance clarity and effectiveness in communication and strategy management. Conduct gap assessments between current-state and target-state business architectures; identify and recommend roadmap components based on findings. Collaborate with IT and business stakeholders to develop transitional architectures and detailed implementation roadmaps. Serve as a liaison between IT and business teams, ensuring all stakeholders understand the strategic management approach and timelines. Align value team activities with divisional and enterprise architecture frameworks. Maintain strong, collaborative relationships with business partners, IT product lines, and key vendors. Stay current with emerging industry technologies and trends to inform architectural decisions. Education
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or a related discipline. Required Experience and Skills
Minimum of 7 years of experience in architecture, business/technical analysis, or IT solution delivery within the life sciences industry. Proven expertise in business process modeling and process improvement. Experience in strategic planning with a focus on business capability enablement. Strong background in system design. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, capable of engaging both technical and business audiences. Strong organizational, influencing, and follow-up abilities. Demonstrated collaboration and teamwork skills. Preferred Experience and Skills
Knowledge of pharmaceutical industry development processes. Familiarity with data and data standards specific to the life sciences industry. Experience with application development, testing, and implementation in cloud environments. Understanding of enterprise architecture frameworks. Application Process & Compliance

The salary range for this role is $94,300.00 - $148,500.00. The position’s placement within the range depends on education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, location, and business needs. The successful candidate will be eligible for annual bonus and long-term incentive, if applicable.
