Duties
The major duties of the
Digital Experience Specialist
include, but are not limited to, the following: Assist with strategic communications planning by helping develop digital content strategies, researching audience needs, and drafting communications plans with subject matter experts. Support digital content management by reviewing metadata, monitoring accessibility standards, and updating or removing outdated materials. Contribute to digital content development by drafting web and social media posts, adding tags or metadata, and ensuring materials meet established guidelines. Assist with social media content management by preparing posts, responding to routine public inquiries, collecting engagement data, and ensuring information is accurate and current. Requirements

U.S. Citizenship required. Appointment subject to background investigation and favorable adjudication. Meet Selective Service Registration Act requirement for males. Selectee will be required to participate in the Direct Deposit Electronics Funds Transfer Program. You will be required to operate a government (or private) motor vehicle as part of your official duties; a valid driver’s license is required. You will be required to submit a Motor Vehicle Operator's License and Driving Record. You must also submit (within a State sealed envelope or submitted directly by the State authorities), and at your own expense, all certified driving records from all States that disclose all valid driver’s licenses, whether current or past, possessed by you. You may be required to work on-call, evenings, weekends, holidays, overtime and shift work. If you are a new employee or supervisor in the Federal government, you will be required to complete a one-year probationary period. You may be required to travel overnight away from home up to 2 nights per month. You must obtain a government charge card for travel purposes. You may be required to complete training and obtain/maintain a government charge card with travel and/or purchase authority. Applicants must be at least 18 years old or at least 16 years old with qualifying circumstances as described (high school graduation or equivalent, vocational training, or enrollment in secondary school with permitted work arrangements). As a condition of employment for accepting this position, you will be required to serve a 1-year probationary period. Qualifications
All qualifications must be met by the closing date of this announcement-10/13/2025-unless otherwise stated in this vacancy announcement. Credit will be given for all appropriate qualifying experience. To receive credit for experience, your resume MUST clearly indicate the nature of the duties and responsibilities for each position, starting and ending dates of employment (month/year), and the resume must reflect full and/or part-time or total number of hours worked (i.e., work 40+ hours a week, rather than indicating full-time). To qualify for this position at the GS-05 grade level, you must possess at least one of the following minimum qualifications by close of the announcement: EXPERIENCE:
At least one full year of specialized experience comparable in scope and responsibility to the GS-05 grade level in the Federal service (obtained in either the public or private sectors). Specialized experience must be related to digital media work and should demonstrate the ability to use digital platforms, products, and services. This experience includes activities such as: assisting in the development or posting of digital content for websites or social media; preparing routine digital materials such as text, graphics, or photos; supporting virtual events or online programs; assisting with digital customer service or responding to public inquiries on digital platforms; compiling or summarizing digital analytics data; or other experience related to the management of digital media. You must include hours per week worked. -OR- EDUCATION:
Successfully completed 4 years of education above high school leading to a bachelor’s degree in any field. Education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position.

Successful completion of a combination of education and experience as described above. Only education in excess of the first 60 semester hours of a course of study leading to a bachelor’s degree is creditable toward meeting the specialized experience requirements. You must include transcripts. You must include months, years and hours per week worked to receive credit for your work and/or volunteer experience. One year of specialized experience is equivalent to 12 months at 40 hours per week. Part-time hours are prorated. You will not receive credit for experience that does not indicate exact hours per week or is listed as "varies". Experience listed as full-time will be credited at 40 hours per week. Volunteer Experience:
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work through National Service programs. Volunteer work helps build critical competencies and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Education
To qualify based on education, you must submit a legible copy of transcripts with your name, school name, credit hours, course level, major(s), and grade-point average or class ranking. Transcripts do not need to be official, but if selected you may be asked for official transcripts before you begin work. Non-Competitive Rehire Eligibility:
Temporary seasonal employees can only maintain non-competitive rehire eligibility if they work no more than a combined total of Temporary NTE less than 1040 hours anywhere in the National Park Service within their established service year. If you have held a temporary seasonal appointment in the past 12 months and have already worked the maximum, you may apply but exceeding 1040 hours may result in loss of eligibility. Employment may be terminated at any time due to funding, project needs, or performance. Physical Demands:
The work may require standing and walking, sometimes over rough surfaces outdoors or in caves, and carrying equipment. Working Conditions:
