The Life Sciences team at Everest is excited to welcome an Underwriter to our Boston, NYC, or Philadelphia office. In this role, you’ll be a key player in evaluating and underwriting new and renewal business, all while building strong relationships with brokers and clients in the industry. You’ll have the opportunity to apply your expertise to deliver customized insurance solutions that balance smart risk management with exceptional client service. Responsibilities
Underwrite and price Lead Umbrella and Excess Casualty policies for the Life Science industry. Develop a sound understanding of the underwriting strategy for areas of responsibility. Cultivate strong relationships with brokers, clients, and key industry stakeholders. Develop the skills required to manage a portfolio of new and renewal business. Collaboratively work with our internal Underwriting, Claims, Risk Engineering, Regional Leadership and Sales & Distribution teams to effectively meet quality servicing standards and to achieve underwriting goals. Adhere to portfolio management goals, company guidelines, and objectives to ensure underwriting discipline and book profitability. Assist with comprehensive assessments of accounts and ensure timely and accurate file documentation. Participating in relevant industry events and conferences. Business travel as required to support the above objectives, and the appropriate management of expenses. Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree preferred. Preferred 1-3 years of casualty insurance industry experience, with life science underwriting experience preferred. Strong analytical as well as communication and presentation skills. The base salary range for this position is $75,000 - $88,000 annually. The offered rate of compensation will be based on individual education, experience, qualifications and work location.
