Since our travelers interact with us through our brands, we have a brand focus in our marketing, while leveraging the scale and efficiency we’ve built in functional expertise. Our Bidding team within our Search Marketing function is looking for an established people leader who will lead a team of engineers. This Senior manager is business-and-product minded, able to contribute to strategy or dig into the details, and most importantly; someone who empowers their people and teams to succeed while building a unified Bidding Platform to help streamline Campaign Management, machine learning science and operations work to enable enhanced bidding capabilities. In this role, you will: Build a Unified Bidding Platform to streamline our SEM campaign management and onboard existing and new use cases across the different marketing channels Lead and collaborate across Marketing MLS teams, Campaign Manager and MLE, understanding goals, constraints and perspectives, making resource, delivery, and architectural trade-offs to maximize strategic value Lead and actively contribute to all phases of the software development lifecycle, including the design, analysis, development, and deployment efforts for multiple enterprise applications projects to tackle sophisticated business problems Be hands-on while also guiding junior developers in building data pipelines and orchestrating bidding strategy and delivery Use the following technologies: Kotlin, Python, Go, Spring, Node.js, React, GraphQL, Docker, Hadoop, Hive, Spark, DataDog, Splunk, Kubernetes, Argo Workflows, AWS cloud Experience and qualifications: 8+ years of professional, post-college software development in object-oriented language 3+ years people management experience with passion for growing individual careers and enabling high-performing teams Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or related technical field or equivalent related professional experience Hands-on technologist and leader well versed at running sophisticated, multi-quarter initiatives and a broad portfolio of applications and services Strong technical acumen and commitment to quality of engineering work and continuous improvement Excellent at switching contexts from strategic to detailed, technical to business, inter-team to cross-organization and everything in between Strong communication skills and highly effective collaborator, providing details and supporting your ideas with data where applicable The total cash range for this position in Seattle is $173,000.00 to $242,500.00. Employees in this role have the potential to increase their pay up to $277,000.00, which is the top of the range, based on ongoing, demonstrated, and sustained performance in the role. Starting pay for this role will vary based on multiple factors, including location, available budget, and an individual’s knowledge, skills, and experience. Pay ranges may be modified in the future.
